Bylaws
The Pan American Society for Transport and Logistics Research, PANAMSTR, is a non-profit entity. The association aims to promote academic and research activities in transportation, transit, and logistics among members and strengthen scientific capacity and intellectual exchange at the Pan-American level. The main activity of PANAMSTR is the organization of the Pan-American Congress on Transportation, Traffic and Logistics, PANAM, a conference held every two years.
The association carries out activities to promote education and research in transportation and logistics among members. Among them are organizing events and scientific exchange at the Pan-American level and promoting scientific collaboration activities among members.
The Pan American Society for Research in Transport and Logistics Association, PANAMSTR, is a legal entity under private law, constituted as a non-profit entity, permanent, independent, autonomous, and of everyday utility. The association is legally domiciled in Barranquilla, Colombia. Members can be Founding, Institutional, Individual, Student, and Emeritus.
Founding Associates are the people who devised, promoted, convened, generated the creation of the association, and made the first contributions to its formation, signing the creation statutes.
Individual Associates are natural persons who, after signing the articles of incorporation, are admitted as such by the corresponding statutes and regulations.
Institutional Associates are legal entities that, after signing the articles of incorporation, are admitted as such by the corresponding statutes and regulations.
Student Associates are natural persons who actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs related to transportation and logistics and meet the corresponding requirements.
Emeritus Associates are natural and legal persons who, due to their activities and scientific and academic contributions, contribute significantly to the fulfillment of the corporate purpose of the company. The process defined in the statutes must be followed to be appointed Emeritus.
The General Assembly is the highest deliberative and decision-making authority. It is constituted by the founding associates and adherents exercising their rights.
The Board of Directors is a permanent governing body elected by the General Assembly for four (4) years. It is made up of eleven (11) active associates. The Board of Directors comprises the President, the Vice President, and four members, with their respective alternates. The President is the Association's legal representative, and the Vice President is his alternate.
